For devoted musicians, instruments are almost like an extension of the body - but vocalists are the only ones who can truthfully say their body itself is an instrument. And what an instrument it is! There are as many unique voices as there are people in the world, so no two vocalists have exactly the same sound. What that means is simple: if you want an instrument that's like no other, your voice is it. All it takes is to learn how to unlock its potential, and that's where vocal lessons at Guitar Center come into the picture. We'll prepare you with the basic skills and knowledge you need for success, and guide you through the process of developing and fine-tuning your voice to bring out its musical potential.

Nancy Salwen's book, "The Fear of Singing Breakthrough Program" is therapy that anybody can use, even an experienced singer like myself. You see, Salwen redefines singing as a human act that everybody can learn how to express. It can be learned the same way we've honed our basic skills to read, write, speak, or walk. It hearkens back to the days when most Americans had a piano in their parlor, which most or all of the children would learn how to play. Salwen posits that musical expression belongs to, and is healthy for, all people. It can bring them together, it can turn you from sad to joyful, and vice versa. It helps us process our emotions as deeply as any therapy session, and this book is your ultimate guide in doing so. There is no other tome on the market offering this much guidance in tying music together with ... full review

There cannot be enough said about the importance of singing with proper vocal technique.  Our vocal instructors will teach you the proper technique of singing and how to use your singing and speaking voice in a healthy and natural way.  Voice lessons will teach you the proper breath support needed to optimize vocal potential in a way that will not damage your vocal folds.  There are so many singers who try to affect their voice in order to mimic other singers and performers.  This often causes serious damage to vocal chords particularly when the singer they were trying to copy wasn't singing correctly to begin with.  We have several things that you will find make our voice lessons unique.
We've carefully selected the most qualified and well-respected instructors—a great fit for those who are just learning to play as well as those who want to advance their skill and become master musicians. Beyond having celebrated careers, every instructor is personable, patient and well educated, often with advanced degrees in music from renowned schools of music. For added peace of mind, all of our instructors are required to pass a thorough background check.

The greatest thing about this audiobook for me is that I have a tween-aged grandson who is an aspiring singer/vocalist. He's never had a lesson or been in choir yet he has a naturally perfect pitch.
