There is not a more powerful tool in building confidence than overcoming the fear of public performance and public speaking. Vocal lessons teach students to control and train their body to relax while performing. Anxiety and performance-induced stress often translates into bad vocal performances. Many singers find themselves great singers in smaller, informal settings - in the recording studio or even the shower - and often find it challenging or impossible to reproduce the same quality performance in front of a larger audience.  Our teachers will teach you how to overcome this fear and to release your inner confidence and full musical potential.

Isabel is very professional and fun to work with. In our first few lessons, we worked on solidifying some basic fundamentals of singing (proper breathing, posture, etc.) and have since moved on to some simple songs/arias. She is a wonderful teacher for beginners like me, but with her skill level, I can see her as being an exceptional teacher for more advanced students as well.

Correct breathing for singers begins with a spontaneous open breath.  Upon inhalation, if ones hands are placed on the stomach - an inch below belly button, the hands will be pushed out by stomach muscles.  The singer's shoulders should be relaxed and not move up.  Neck and jaw should be relaxed.  Jaw needs to be unhinged.  Phonation begins with the movement of the stomach inward, where one is singing while pulling the stomach muscles in.  This is called "singing on the breath."  The phonation ends with the release of the abdominal muscles.  It's important to note that phonation should be ended with the release of the abs and not in one's throat, which is vocally abusive.

The "Aah" sound is one of the hardest to produce - but you should be able to perform this without pressure or force if you are doing all these exercises in succession. This is because we have placed major focus on exercises that keep the feeling of the voice in the face, nose and mouth.

Singing is a much more complex art than it first appears. It is near impossible to learn proficiently when just singing along to songs or looking at online resources. Private singing lessons will give you total attention from your vocal coach, in order for you to improve your voice quickly and effectively. Your voice teacher will also be able to see any weak points that a trainer of a choir or group class may not notice. This way, you will avoid developing bad habits that might impede your progress.
Selecting the right repertoire is a big part of a successful audition -- but be careful, as there are so many overdone musical theatre audition songs out there. Here, Molly R. shares six songs to avoid... and what to try instead!   With musical theatre auditions, often the toughest part isn't the audition itself, but instead making a decision on what to sing. I’m here to help narrow it down by telling you what NOT to sing in an audition -- the overdone musical theatre audition songs.
At Music House, our approach to private singing lessons embraces the music that our students love. It's a reimagined, modern approach -- one that emphasizes the use of new skills and knowledge in real musical situations. Let's face it, singers need to sing. That's why all of our voice lesson students are encouraged to perform in our auditorium, join one of our Workshop Bands and attend our free weekend community music classes. The combination of our innovative curriculum, experienced faculty, and countless opportunities for musical exposure creates an ideal environment for any budding singer. e singing lessons but Milton came in with a positive attitude. Milton is very friendly, funny, professional and always enthusiastic when asking questions about music. I use to be very shy, "never want to sing in front of people" type of girl, but ever since I started lessons with him, I sing all the time in front of people, starting to perform on stage, built A LOT of confidence, and found what type of musician I am. All the things he teaches me is VERY USEFUL, I apply everything we learn to my music and it has made a huge difference. I've come to learn that the tiniest things count! I highly recommend him and you'll have the best time!"

There exists a science that dictates how a beautiful tone is produced.  One of the things that can give a singer a gorgeous tone is the use of vocal resonances.  These resonances (Frontal sinus, Sphenoid sinus, Maxillary sinus and Ethmoid air cells) enhance phonation in quality of tone, intensity and color.  This results in a beautiful, rich and unique sound.   In contrast, resonating poorly will make one's voice sound thin and ordinary.  At "Beautiful Voice NJ" students spend of part of their private singing lesson learning how to resonate.
Before you read any further, there’s one important thing you should know – anyone can sing!  While some people may have more natural musical ability than others, and an even smaller subset of those people have a voice that’s worth training for potential professional use, there isn’t a single person out there who can’t learn how to sing, especially with a good private teacher and a lot of hard work and enthusiasm! Dallas’ music scene has retained its local flavor and relevance with more modern acts like ‘psychobilly’ pioneer Reverend Horton Heat, Erykah Badu, the Old 97’s, indie rock staple Toadies, and metal kings Pantera. Denton, a northern satellite of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, boasts its own odd Austin-like vibe as a ‘music town’ with a strong local music scene that exists firmly on its own but also contributes directly to Dallas’ own scene. Additionally, one of the leading collegiate Music programs in the country can be found in Denton at the University of North Texas. Taylor Robinson Music Lessons has a strong core of instructors throughout the DFW Metroplex, always ready and willing to teach and help shape students into the musicians they hope to become. Nancy Salwen's book, "The Fear of Singing Breakthrough Program" is therapy that anybody can use, even an experienced singer like myself. You see, Salwen redefines singing as a human act that everybody can learn how to express. It can be learned the same way we've honed our basic skills to read, write, speak, or walk. It hearkens back to the days when most Americans had a piano in their parlor, which most or all of the children would learn how to play. Salwen posits that musical expression belongs to, and is healthy for, all people. It can bring them together, it can turn you from sad to joyful, and vice versa. It helps us process our emotions as deeply as any therapy session, and this book is your ultimate guide in doing so. There is no other tome on the market offering this much guidance in tying music together with ... full review
