Jivana P. Condak, Founder and Director of Fort Greene Music Scene teaches Piano, Guitar, Ukulele, Bass, Voice, Ear Training, Music Theory and Songwriting. Born in NYC, Jivana was exposed to music and art early on. Her mother, from Manhattan was an art director at Columbia Records and her father, from Brooklyn was a jazz musician and a painter. There exists a science that dictates how a beautiful tone is produced.  One of the things that can give a singer a gorgeous tone is the use of vocal resonances.  These resonances (Frontal sinus, Sphenoid sinus, Maxillary sinus and Ethmoid air cells) enhance phonation in quality of tone, intensity and color.  This results in a beautiful, rich and unique sound.   In contrast, resonating poorly will make one's voice sound thin and ordinary.  At "Beautiful Voice NJ" students spend of part of their private singing lesson learning how to resonate.


We don't want you to just sing in the shower with your newly-trained voice.  All of our voice students have many options to perform in recitals and performances that we have at the school throughout the year.  Some of these performances happen right in the atrium in our own building. Students will get to perform with other students in their age group and skill level. Performances give students the opportunity to practice that final step of the music-learning curriculum by exercising the presentation of their skills in a public forum. The excitement and nerves of public performance can often derail good technique if it hasn't been properly learned and reinforced in the first place.
Please do not pass over this course when you see that it covers the ANATOMY of singing. Roma starts at the beginning because that is how we learn, at the beginning. I am not new to singing but was feeling rusty on my skills/knowledge. She includes so much information that you get to print and keep forever, including a vocal warm-up cd that you may download. Sometimes she is on video for warm-ups and talks to you like you are in the room with her. I recommend this course to anyone and everyone.

Riley could not even look adults in the eye when speaking to them when Steve began teaching her at age 10. But by the time she graduated high school at 18, she had blossomed into a very powerful, skilled, and controlled singer who had starred in several school productions and won several awards and accolades such as the NJ NATS award and the NJ All-State Honors Choir.
