Now that you have warmed up your resonating chambers, you can try singing on other vowels to continue warming up the voice. The "Aah" sound is one of the hardest to produce - but you should be able to perform this without pressure or force if you are doing all these exercises in succession. This is because we have placed major focus on exercises that keep the feeling of the voice in the face, nose and mouth.
Many of us have seen it happen while watching singing competition shows like The Voice, American Idol, or The X Factor— “You’re voice is incredible, but the song choice was all wrong.”  It usually ends with an elimination, especially if it is a consistent pattern.  You might love a certain genre of music, but knowing whether a song is a good fit for your voice and audition is critical. Like many things, success is dependent on knowing your strengths and showcasing them.  So what are the best so … Read More

Here are a couple of basic things a singer can do to start building a bigger voice: use correct breathing method, engage vocal resonances and master singing on clean stationary vowels.  There is a common misconception about how to breathe.  Some believe that a singer needs to expand their ribcage out horizontally while inhaling.  That is incorrect.  This will result in various issues such as limited vocal range, pitch problems, a wobbly shaky vibrato and more.

Many 4-year-olds love to sing, but they likely lack the focus for formal voice lessons. However, it's not too early to begin teaching your child musical concepts that will be important once they are old enough for singing instruction at School of Rock. Your 4-year-old can participate in the Little Wing music program to learn fundamental concepts through fun, dynamic musical activities.

Have you ever wondered how singers such as Whitney Houston, Freddy Mercury, Maria Carey, Elvis Presley and Ariana Grande produce that beautiful sound? The answer is "Bel Canto." It's not just a vocal technique, it's a science. Some great singers intuitively apply the concepts of "Bel Canto" to reach vocal greatness while others were taught. At "Beautiful Voice NJ" students learn everything from how to produce a gorgeous tone to how to gain ultimate pitch control. Modern day Bel Canto, which means "Beautiful Singing," is applied to all styles of music: Rock, Pop, Alternative, Jazz, R&B, Funk, Blues, Soul, Broadway, Country, Hip Hop, Classical and more.

My teaching approach: I tailor my lessons to fit the students goals. Beginner students want to learn songs, not theory. So I get the student playing /singing before I focus on scales and theory. I want to teach the student what they want to learn as well as giving them the skills to be a good musician/vocalist. I also determine what your learning style is, so that I can effectively teach you in the way you learn best. I have over 14 years teaching experience in guitar and voice, and I teach songwriting and ukulele as well.  I've been performing locally and internationally for over 7 years. My influences are: The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Patty ... View Profile
There is not a more powerful tool in building confidence than overcoming the fear of public performance and public speaking. Vocal lessons teach students to control and train their body to relax while performing. Anxiety and performance-induced stress often translates into bad vocal performances. Many singers find themselves great singers in smaller, informal settings - in the recording studio or even the shower - and often find it challenging or impossible to reproduce the same quality performance in front of a larger audience.  Our teachers will teach you how to overcome this fear and to release your inner confidence and full musical potential.
Singing isn’t a skill limited by age, but rather by your level of determination and hard work. Both young and older students have their own advantages. For example, a younger student will have more time to develop his or her voice, while an older student will more easily pick up on difficult skills like sight reading. Students of all ages are encouraged to join our online singing classes!
I truly enjoyed my first lesson with Indigo. She's a wonderful instructor. She explains very clearly with a calm and precise approach. I truly feel she can teach me how to be a better guitarist in a structured, positive and comfortable way. She immediately put me at ease without judgement and without the dreaded "mansplaining" that I often got from male instructors in the past. I'm definitely coming back for more lessons.

Our philosophy is simple. We make learning music fun, and are committed to the integrity of a quality music education. In addition to a foundational education, students are given ample opportunity to make music with others. The confidence gained by learning music parlays with other areas, giving students the self-assurance to take on new challenges.
I am taking the bluegrass singing course and I find it excellent.Easy to follow, starts where it should and has a huge range of challenge in the one course. If I could I'd quit my job and study it all day.The video feedback is an excellent addendum and I'd recommend this to anyone even a seasoned player just wanting to sharpen up. A true fan I am I am....
This is a great book to teach little kids to match pitch and learn to read music. Every lesson is just at their level and fun so they like to learn! I highly suggest this book for those teaching private or group lessons or beginning choirs. This is the Very Young Beginner Series so it's geared toward ages 3-7. This also follows the Kolday method quite a bit, has extra songs in the back, a page for the student to color at home or in the classroom that goes along with the story the teacher or parent can help the student read and of course the song. There are also lessons in the back for the teacher! Oh, and recordings of the main songs (vocal track amd accompaniment) online! So awesome! I'm using this meathod book to teach a 3 1/2 year old who really seems to like it and ... full review

The greatest thing about this audiobook for me is that I have a tween-aged grandson who is an aspiring singer/vocalist. He's never had a lesson or been in choir yet he has a naturally perfect pitch. When he stays over, I listen to him sing the National Anthem and America the Beautiful over and over again and I'm just in awe as to where this boy gets ... full review
