There cannot be enough said about the importance of singing with proper vocal technique.  Our vocal instructors will teach you the proper technique of singing and how to use your singing and speaking voice in a healthy and natural way.  Voice lessons will teach you the proper breath support needed to optimize vocal potential in a way that will not damage your vocal folds.  There are so many singers who try to affect their voice in order to mimic other singers and performers.  This often causes serious damage to vocal chords particularly when the singer they were trying to copy wasn't singing correctly to begin with.  We have several things that you will find make our voice lessons unique.
We offer professional training in many different genres. We have helped many students prepare for their auditions for performances, bands, and shows. We also have many working professionals who seek out our vocal instruction for help with working on projecting their speaking voice when being used in a public speaking forum. My teaching approach: I tailor my lessons to fit the students goals. Beginner students want to learn songs, not theory. So I get the student playing /singing before I focus on scales and theory. I want to teach the student what they want to learn as well as giving them the skills to be a good musician/vocalist. I teach group lessons for newborn to 9 1/2 yrs: newborn - 18 mos, 18 mos - 3 1/2 yrs, 3 1/2 - 4 1/2 yrs, 4 1/2 - 61/2 and group Piano lessons for ages 6 1/2 to 9 1/2. I have taught young children for 25 years at 1st Methodist Church in Grapevine. We sing, dance, and play instruments. We work on duple and triple meter as well as learn solfeggio.  It's fun and educational! 
Tyler Demaree is currently a senior Choral Music Education Major at Western Illinois University. Before transferring to Western Illinois University, Tyler was a Music Education major at Southwestern College and is now finishing his Music Education degree at Western. Tyler was born and raised in Winfield, Kansas and moved to Macomb this year to attend Western Illinois Univeristy. He has participated in various top ensembles at Emporia State University, Southwestern College and now at Western Illinois University in University Singers and Vocal Jazz Ensemble. Tyler has a passion for teaching singers with the ideals and terminology of Estill Voice Training while working towards certification in EVT. Mr. Demaree is also a member of the National Association for Music Education and the American Choral Directors Association.    

My experience in dance, Alexander Technique, and acting informs my teaching approach. I include body awareness, character interpretation, and making the music come alive as an integral part of the lessons. Now that you have warmed up your resonating chambers, you can try singing on other vowels to continue warming up the voice. The "Aah" sound is one of the hardest to produce - but you should be able to perform this without pressure or force if you are doing all these exercises in succession. This is because we have placed major focus on exercises that keep the feeling of the voice in the face, nose and mouth.
If your child loves to sing, you probably knew it before they could talk. While you should always encourage singing, most children under the age of 7 generally don't have the focus or patience needed for formal singing lessons. With persistence and motivation some kids have learned to play sing at some impressively young ages, but it really comes down to is the individual attitude and maturity level of the student. 
There exists a science that dictates how a beautiful tone is produced.  One of the things that can give a singer a gorgeous tone is the use of vocal resonances.  These resonances (Frontal sinus, Sphenoid sinus, Maxillary sinus and Ethmoid air cells) enhance phonation in quality of tone, intensity and color.  This results in a beautiful, rich and unique sound.   In contrast, resonating poorly will make one's voice sound thin and ordinary.  At "Beautiful Voice NJ" students spend of part of their private singing lesson learning how to resonate.

Trained as a classical pianist, I used to moonlight playing popular songs I heard on the radio and would hide it from my teacher. Nowadays, I ask my students what would like they to play and pick one or two songs that they like so they can practice. I don't mind if my student plays a Chopin Nocturne and then a blues/ jazz song.
