Please do not pass over this course when you see that it covers the ANATOMY of singing. Roma starts at the beginning because that is how we learn, at the beginning. I am not new to singing but was feeling rusty on my skills/knowledge. She includes so much information that you get to print and keep forever, including a vocal warm-up cd that you may download. Sometimes she is on video for warm-ups and talks to you like you are in the room with her. I recommend this course to anyone and everyone.

Students don’t have to wait until showcases or recitals for playing experience. They can attend one of the many open mics and jams that Freeway Music hosts throughout the city. We host open mics at places like Drip, Beef O’ Brady’s, and Social Grill. Freeway Music even has an open jazz jam every other Tuesday at Delaney’s in Five Points. We keep our events posted on the website to make it easy for students to keep up with what is going on.
At School of Rock, we teach private singing lessons in conjunction with weekly band rehearsals meant to build confidence and teamwork. While we do offer private singing instruction, we strongly encourage students to play in band rehearsals as a way of exploring group dynamics, and get the chance to find out what it's like to sing lead vocals for a rock band.
Selecting the right repertoire is a big part of a successful audition -- but be careful, as there are so many overdone musical theatre audition songs out there. Here, Molly R. shares six songs to avoid... and what to try instead!   With musical theatre auditions, often the toughest part isn't the audition itself, but instead making a decision on what to sing. I’m here to help narrow it down by telling you what NOT to sing in an audition -- the overdone musical theatre audition songs.

Singing is a much more complex art than it first appears. It is near impossible to learn proficiently when just singing along to songs or looking at online resources. Private singing lessons will give you total attention from your vocal coach, in order for you to improve your voice quickly and effectively. Your voice teacher will also be able to see any weak points that a trainer of a choir or group class may not notice. This way, you will avoid developing bad habits that might impede your progress.

I take a physiological approach to singing... after all it is a physical endeavor.  The voice or larynx, despite all its complexities, is just another set of muscles that can be trained to reach its fullest potential.  The method that I teach, “The Franco/Italian Bel Canto Method” has been taught in Europe for more than 200 years and has produced the world’s greatest classical singers.  Now having said that let me assure you studying this method doesn’t mean that you have to become a classical singer.  The techniques used are designed to strengthen and improve the quality of the human voice and can be applied to any genre ... Many 4-year-olds love to sing, but they likely lack the focus for formal voice lessons. However, it's not too early to begin teaching your child musical concepts that will be important once they are old enough for singing instruction at School of Rock. Your 4-year-old can participate in the Little Wing music program to learn fundamental concepts through fun, dynamic musical activities.
Hey There!! My name is Millie and I am a professional actress, singer, and songwriter. I have traveled all over the United States in Musical Theatre and have also worked as a jazz stylist and vocalist. I am able to teach the styles you hear on the radio, plus some. The final piece of the puzzle is flexible scheduling. It's our mission to make Guitar Center vocal lessons accessible to anyone, so even if your timetable is jam-packed, we encourage you to get in touch and find out how we can work around your busy lifestyle to tailor a lesson plan to your personal scheduling needs. It's the least we can do to make sure that music - and a newfound superstar singing voice - are well within the reach of everybody with the passion to realize his or her potential.

The Diva Method is excellent- every video contains material gained from years of research, passion, and experience with all genres and voices. Literally after one week my voice sounded better and I braved a big song at a campfire! Then was asked to join my church worship team- maybe a silly dream, but a dream of mine for sure! A year and a half later, I still warm up with these videos and am still growing. The number one joy is that I have so much more freedom in my voice than ever before. Jeannie is (was) such an artist she really has a way of bringing you out from behind all your head trips, building your physiology, and oh my goodness- I can sing in front of people as well as I could by myself. I sing at church three Sundays a month getting great leads and solos and harmonies. Brava Jeannie and thank you!
If you're new to singing, or if you're just trying to fine-tune your vocal skills, one fun and helpful exercise is to sing duet songs with your vocal instructor or a friend. Pick a style you both like and you'll find that the possibilities for both fun and music making are endless! Why Are They Helpful to Sing? When you sing with piano, or with a chorus or band, there's often someone else playing the same line you're singing. While this is great for learning to sing in tune and working on … Read More
Trained as a classical pianist, I used to moonlight playing popular songs I heard on the radio and would hide it from my teacher. Nowadays, I ask my students what would like they to play and pick one or two songs that they like so they can practice. I don't mind if my student plays a Chopin Nocturne and then a blues/ jazz song. It's to create combination using all sides of the brain and engage students in making music.
Two things in singing are non-negotiable: breath support and jaw placement. This online singing class will teach you both! You’ll learn breathing exercises for singing as well as proper jaw placement. Your instructor will even discuss diet for singers and the impact it can have on vocal health. A little homework will give you even more vocal training so you can build on a solid foundation of singing skills.
Do both boys and girls experience voice breaks and cracks as they learn to sing? I have been teaching voice lessons to both boys and girls (of all ages) for more than 15 years. Here's how it breaks down: Boys Boy voices start to change during the first stages of puberty and can progres
In addition to nurturing a child's passion for singing, it's important to keep his or her voice healthy as they grow and get stronger vocals. The main purpose of children's singing lessons is to make the learning process fun. As a student begins to enjoy the learning and improvement process, the instructor can work on advancing the fundamentals, techniques, and practice of singing.
